Web search and the internet switch
For questions about today, such as rates, results, prices and news, ZenithAI can search the web, read the pages it finds, and answer with links. You stay in control of when that happens.
How a web answer is made
Section titled “How a web answer is made”- ZenithAI searches the web for your question.
- When it can, it opens the top pages it finds and reads the text, tables included.
- It answers from what it found and lists the pages under Sources, so you can check them.
For follow-up questions such as “and what about last year?”, ZenithAI tries to search for the full question, not just the last few words. If a follow-up search goes off topic, ask the whole question again.

When internet is off
Section titled “When internet is off”If search is off and ZenithAI sees that your question needs current facts, the answer usually carries a note:
Unverified: internet search is off, so this answer is from the model’s own knowledge and may be out of date or wrong. Turn on Search to check it.
Well-known facts are answered normally without the note. The note is saved with the answer, so you see it again when you reopen the chat.
For administrators: block internet per user
Section titled “For administrators: block internet per user”On the Users page, switch off Internet access for a person. ZenithAI asks you to confirm.
- That user’s web searches, research and workspace internet use stop, including jobs already running.
- Nothing goes to the internet for that user, even with
#search. - Their search controls are greyed out with the note Internet search is turned off by your administrator.
Common questions
Can I stop ZenithAI from searching the internet?
Yes. Turn off the Search button in the message box, switch off auto-search in Settings, or add #nosearch to a single message. Your administrator can also block internet access for your account.
What does Unverified mean on an answer?
It means internet search was off, so the answer comes from the model's own knowledge and may be out of date or wrong. It usually appears on questions that need current facts, such as rates, prices or office holders.
What happens when an administrator blocks internet for a user?
ZenithAI makes no web searches and opens no web pages for that user, even if they type #search. The search controls are greyed out with a note saying the administrator turned internet off.
